BELTON HOUSE
5 minute drive
A beautiful example of Restoration architecture. With 1,300 acres of grounds including Dutch and Italian-style gardens, ancient deer park and the National Trust’s largest adventure playground, there’s plenty for the whole family to see and do at Belton House.   
GRIMSTHORPE CASTLE PARK & GARDENS
31 minute drive
Tour the ornate halls and bedrooms,stroll through the perfectly manicured gardens, but don’t forget to check the packed events schedule. Grimsthorpe Castle hosts everything from an open-air cinema to vintage car shows, so you’re sure to find something fun to do in this country house with a difference.  
Admire the stunning Lincolnshire landscape from up high. Book a hot air balloon ride and travel 5,000 feet into the air with nothing but the beautiful countryside below to keep you company.

TWINLAKES PARK
36 minute drive
Feel the wind in your hair on exhilarating rides or get up close to lambs, goats and llamas. Twinlakes is a theme park, child-friendly farm and indoor play centre rolled into one and the perfect addition to your East Midlands escape.  
See lions, tigers and bears in a zoo that first opened its doors in 2013. This overlooked gem boasts a wide range of big cats including pumas, tigers and leopards for a truly wild experience in the East Midlands.  
Visit the family home of Isaac Newton and see the famous tree that inspired his laws of gravity and stand in the room where he split sunlight into the colours of the rainbow. Newton’s Chamber is decorated to recreate its 1660s look, so you can feel even closer to one of history’s most influential scientists.  
Enjoy a breath of fresh air on a circular trail that takes in three woods and the Grade I listed Belvoir Castle. The sometimes-muddy route is lined with beautiful views of the Lincolnshire countryside and takes roughly three and a half hours to complete.  
Visit Easton between January and March and you’ll be greeted with a carpet of snowdrop flowers winding their way through a network of ash trees. More than ten varieties of the delicate and colourful plants can be found in these 450-year-old gardens.
