Great overnight, golf break at Belton Woods
Had a great time at Belton Woods. Rooms are great. Food was great. (Matilda looked after us admirably). Fairways were very dry because of the weather. And greens were great. Thoroughly recommended.
Golf weekend
There for a golf weekend. Lovely hotel, comfy room, great food and restaurant service, golf was excellent. Really enjoyed and and would love to go back the the lads for golf or my wife for a spa break.
Holly!
Holly was amazing, very kind and tentative. Made our experience and we will certainly be back!
Lads weekend

It's up'ed its gane
I've stayed several times in the past and my last review included a couple of areas for improvement. This time I must say that the entire Hotel has 'up'ed it's game' considerable. The entire hotel has had a make-over to a good standard and now the public rooms are decorated appropriately and so are the bedrooms. There are plently of staff on reception, manning the bars and serving meals etc. They appear to be well trained and very helpful. The restaurant food is now excellent quality and there is a good choice. I also eat in the Charet Jug which offers a varied menu and at very reasonable prices. I will certainly stay again.
Overnight stay to meet friends
Very friendly staff, excellent dining experience and value for money. We would recommend the hotel and plan to return.
Lovely hotel
We stayed one night here, it was a wonderful hotel in a great setting The rooms were spacious and clean The highlight for us was the dinner, we asked for recommendations and Holly recommended the Filet Steak… she was not wrong, it was great! The service was brilliant All in all a great stay
Golf Trip
Great experience and golf weekend, exceptional service from Holly during the meal as well!
Great Facilities
The staff were very friendly and helpful in the bar & restaurant. Hotel has a great pool & steam room with excellent golf course.
Game of two halves
We booked Belton Hall with another couple - boys played golf, girls had a spa day. Our immediate impressions weren’t good. The reception staff seemed apathetic. No one helped us with the enormous number of cases and all the presents my very generous sister in law had brought us for our recent wedding - we spent a sweaty half an hour transporting it all down a very long and winding corridor on a wonky trolley as the boys were teeing off. The lunchtime sandwiches in the bar area were inedible - clearly the chef has never tasted his own creations. The prawn and avocado sandwich just tasted of mayonnaise, not worth the calories - I took one bite and left it. The lady taking the order was lovely, but flustered and got it wrong, one meal didn’t arrive, a request for brown bread ignored, when we politely asked what had happened to one of the meals, I received a blatant eye roll. Wow I thought, this place is putting me in a bad mood. But the spa treatment was delightful - loved my therapist Bathsheba. Our evening meal was absolutely delicious - steaks, scallops, guinea fowl, a delicious mushroom starter were all perfect. We were served by the lovely Matilda who coped admirably with the order, meal vouchers and splitting the bill. The rooms on the ground floor have no air con, and are a bit dated, but spacious and clean with a comfortable bed. The communal areas are lovely - modern, spacious and recently refurbished. Breakfast was excellent. It’s an odd place - there’s a lot of bits of paper to negotiate, meal vouchers, free drinks etc. The pool is pretty awful - worse than our local leisure centre and as mentioned one member of staff was downright rude, but most are delightful. The golf course is obviously popular. This place could be a gem, if management could tweak out the problems. Thanks to the evening meal chef, Bathsheba and Matilda, we had a lovely time. Thank you to them.
Fantastic venue with Excellent amenities. Highly recommend
Excellent stay. Room was perfect in every way. Lovely view over the golf course. Staff were so friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. Evening meal was delicious. Will definitely return. Thank you
Spa and stay over treat.
Lovely location and quiet. The room was comfortable but looking dated. Need to update the bathrooms to make more accessible for disabled. They only have 2 disabled rooms and one is next to the laundry, which is very noisy. The air conditioning unit wasn’t working but I went to the reception and they sent an engineer to fix it. Very good value spa stay over package. Room was clean. Excellent services. Especially in the restaurant. Brilliant spa and treatment. Came away feeling refreshed and relaxed.
Nice welcome and stay
One night stay visiting friends/family in Rutland/Lincs. Nice welcome and a lovely waitress (Emma) at dinner and the meal was very tasty. Large room with a bath and loads of hot water - a godsend after a long day driving. Thank you
Nice spa / leisure facilities, friendly staff, helped with my issues
My husband purchased me a luxury spa weekend with Dinner B&B and two spa treatments included. The facilities for the spa and pool are all clean and tidy and easily accessible. The room was a superior one and the mini bar was complimentary and the Nespresso coffee caps also very welcome! I had an issue with a very noisy air con on a weekend that was 30/31 degrees. The aircon failed as it was full and needed draining. I asked for a fan as it was so noisy and I never slept the two nights I was in. All staff on reception and in restaurants or bars and in the spa were very helpful and professional. I would especially thank the night manager who drained the aircon in the late nights and early mornings and who provided me with a fan. As a single person stay. The dinner tables nearer the windows are preferred to dine in for brekkie and dinner as they offer a view rather than being stuck on the halfway point. The invoice billing is not always clear and in sync with what was signed for and don’t indicate a total rather than breakdown figure. If a dining package is included this should be shown and then supplementary listed. Check your invoice before check out! Check out on a Sunday needs to have more than one staff on reception as a 45 minute wait with people queuing in reception while a person is querying their bill is never a good look. The spa told me I would not be provided a robe or towel from them despite having a spa weekend booked with two included treatments. I don’t think this is fair. Priority is given to day spa users. I could get a towel from golf reception but that’s another process. On Sunday my 25 min spa treatment was cancelled less than 1 hour from the treatment time. I managed to get a refund but had to wait for 45 mins in reception so the leisure manager could talk to reception about refunding me. I sent 4 emails over the two days to reception which weren’t acknowledged but in the end I spoke on my return home with a manager who managed to obtain a refund of one night stay.
